Delete Messages from Queues in Exchange Server 2003

This article describes how to delete selected messages from queues. If you delete a message from a queue, the message is permanently removed from the messaging system.


Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager
Double-click Servers, double-click the server that you want, and then click Queues


Note If you have administrative groups defined, double-click Administrative Groups, double-click Administrative_Group_Name (where Administrative_Group_Name is the group that contains the queue you want), double-click Servers, double-click the server that you want, and then click Queues


Right-click the queue that you want to modify, and then click Freeze to freeze the queue
Click Find Messages, and then click Find Now to find messages in the queue


Right-click the message that you want to delete, and then click one of the following options:
Click Delete (no NDR) to delete messages from the queue without sending a non-delivery report (NDR) to the senders
Click Delete (with NDR) to delete messages from the queue and send an NDR to the senders of the messages


Note To delete several messages that are next to each other, click the first message, hold down SHIFT and click the last message, right-click one of the selected messages, and then click either Delete (no NDR) or Delete (with NDR). To delete several messages that are not next to each other, click the first message, hold down CTRL and click additional messages, right-click one of the selected messages, and then click either Delete (no NDR) or Delete (with NDR)


When you are prompted to delete the messages in the queue, click Yes

Deleting Local Group Policy Setting

This will show you how to check to see if this Group Policy setting has been set to not save the position of open windows or the size and position of the taskbar when users log off, and to delete if it is so that the changed will now be remembered at exit.


Open the Start Menu
In the Search box, type regedit and press Enter
Click on Continue in the User Account Control (UAC) box
Scroll to this key in the Regedit:


HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer


In the right pane, look to see if you have NoSaveSettings.
If yes then right click on NoSaveSettings and click on Delete and Yes to confirm deletion.


In regedit, go to:


HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer


Close regedit


Logoff and logon,or restart the computer to apply the reset and to let Vista rebuild the registry keys with a clean slate


Open Folder Options
Click View tab
Check Remember each folder’s view settings
Uncheck Restore previous folder windows at logon
Click OK


Make the changes you want for the opened Windows Explorer windows
To Apply These Changes to All the Same Folder Type Templates
Open Folder Options
Click the View tab
Click the Apply to Folders button
Click Yes in the confirmation prompt
Click OK

Vista Reset Folder View Manually

Open the Start Menu


In the Search box, type regedit and press Enter

Scroll to this key in the Regedit:

In the left pane, right click on Bags, and click on Delete
Click on Yes in the confirmation pop-up window
In the left pane, right click on BagMRU, and click on Delete
Click on Yes in the confirmation pop-up window


Scroll to this key in the Regedit::


HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell


In the left pane, right click on BagMRU and click Delete
Click on Yes in the confirmation pop-up window
In the left pane, right click on Bags and click on Delete
Click on Yes in the confirmation pop-up window.


Scroll to this key in the Regedit:


HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam


In the left pane, right click on BagMRU if here and click Delete
Click on Yes in the confirmation pop-up window
In the left pane, right click on Bags if here and click on Delete
Click on Yes in the confirmation pop-up window
